Do you ever stop and ask that question?
When you’ve spent years—maybe decades—shaping yourself around others… Learning to keep the peace… Trying to be liked, needed, or accepted…
It’s easy to lose sight of where you end, and others begin.
And then something shifts. You realise: it’s not only okay, but necessary, to look after yourself. Not at the expense of others… but for the sake of your own wellbeing.
You start to see things differently. You start to see things for who you are today.
You look back at the happy times, the laughter, the joy. You reminisce. But sometimes, instead of joy, you feel an emptiness, because those moments aren’t here now. They live in memory.
To feel full of life again, you have to return to the here and now.
We’re taught to chase happiness like it’s a destination, something waiting over there, just beyond the next achievement or life event.
But if we’re always looking ahead… Or clinging to what was… We miss the only place life actually happens: this moment.
This moment—right here—is where you can arrive.
When you truly arrive, everything changes. You respond, not react. You feel present in your body. You stop repeating and rehearsing the past. You stop bracing for what hasn’t happened yet. You begin to live again—in real time.
This is the moment your emotions become feelable, no longer stored or suppressed. Yes, that can feel scary. Unstable. Exposed.
But it’s real. It’s you.
We’ve been conditioned to think emotions are weakness. But allowing yourself to feel isn’t falling apart it’s putting the pieces back together.
Gently. With presence.
You are free to be you. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea. But if you’re honest with yourself that’s all you ever need to be.
Otherwise, you become lost in expectation. Tailoring your tone, choices, energy to match what others expect. And that’s exhausting.
Even work the place we think we leave behind at the end of the day, follows us. If you’re in a job that doesn’t feel right, the mental noise doesn’t switch off. Your body may leave the building…
But your mind? It’s still processing. Planning. Worrying. You carry it. And that means you’re never really off. Never really free.
The mind lives in what was… Or what might be. But peace? Peace is only ever found in what is.
And when life adds its layers—work, stress, family, finances, even the pressure to feel happy—you can become so tangled in thought that you stop noticing what’s real. You miss the moment entirely.
You forget who you are. Until one day…You stop. You breathe.
You ask: Who am I now?
And for the first time, maybe the answer isn’t found in the past or projected into the future…

Yes please!

Choosing you & the power of present-moment living.
When you choose you, and choose to live in the present moment. you reclaim your right to say:
‘Yes please’ to what feels good, and ‘No thank you’ to what does not.
If something is bothering you or doesn’t feel good, it’s a ‘no thank you'. You’re not obligated to tolerate discomfort or make light of what feels wrong, no matter who else is involved.
Instead, find a ‘yes please’, no matter how small.
If addressing the situation is a ‘yes please’, then do so in that moment. Addressing a situation in real time is not confrontational, it’s the real you… the unrehearsed you. Putting a moment off to be dealt with at a later time accumulates stress, anxiety, and pain.
In recounting a past moment, the focus is often on another person or group of people.
But you can never fully understand someone else’s actions or motives, therefore, don’t even try. It brings you no more settlement than what the original moment brought you.
You are at your most truthful and effective when you are present. You are absolutely entitled to respond as you feel, in the moment. Processing in real time might mean looking after yourself in many different ways, but it’s just that: look after yourself, however feels best for you. Only then can you truly look after others.
‘No thank-you’s’ never get better and never feel good.
So find your ‘yes please.’ This is more alien than you might think. We are so conditioned by society to please others. It feels incredibly freeing to say a constant ‘yes please’ to yourself. It’s not selfish —it’s self-worth, self-love, and self-respect.
Even in the crappiest of moments, there is a ‘yes please’ to be found. Because when your attention changes, the moment changes.
You begin to direct yourself, your energy, your awareness, toward what supports your well-being.
No more ignoring or suppressing your feelings.
No more masking discomfort with false positivity.If something’s unpleasant, acknowledge it. But don’t stay looking at it release yourself to your ‘yes please’, to your better moment.
You have the power to shift toward something more favourable, something that feels better.When you are true to yourself, you will be felt. And everything becomes lighter and freer.
Freedom only exists in the moment you’re in.
Otherwise, you’re trapped:
